At IFOTRODE, the mission is clear: to pioneer groundbreaking solutions for the management and elimination of neglected tropical diseases that afflict communities in tropical regions, especially in Uganda.
At the forefront of it all, it is the battle against diseases like tungiasis and podoconiosis. The aim is to create a healthier and more resilient future for those most vulnerable.

FACTS
What Are Neglected Tropical Diseases?
Neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) are a group of diseases native to tropical and subtropical zones of the world. They are predominant among the world’s poor.
Examples of NTDs include rabies, elephantiasis, soil borne helminthiasis, trachoma, leprosy, sleeping sickness (human African trypanosomiasis), river blindness (onchocerciasis), Guinea worm disease etc.
